Eric Chen is an alumnus of National Tsing Hua University (NTHU). On the one hundred years anniversary he donated 2 fuel cell scooters, 1 four wheel fuel cell scooter, and a low pressure hydrogen canister exchange station to the university. These products all come from Asia Pacific Fuel Cell Technologies, Ltd. (APFCT) and intend to be used to build NTHU a “new energy green campus”. With two hydrogen canisters (45g hydrogen storage capacity each) installed on a scooter, it can drive about 40 km. In the future, these canisters will be sold at NT $26 each (hydrogen only).
Chen also installed a hydrogen canister station inside the campus. In the future, this will help security team to build a hydrogen fuel cell cruise fleet.
Li-Jun Chen, principle of NTHU said, “We already conducted an electric vehicle development project 30 years ago, and we are currently the only university has nuclear energy and research center. In response to government’s energy conservation and carbon limiting policy, by conducting energy technology project and integrating whole disciplines from the university, and further collaborate with industrial resource, we hope to enable NTHU a major green energy technology development center in Taiwan”.
