Dr. Lou-Chuang Lee, Minister of National Science Council (NSC), Taiwan and Dr. Suzanne Fortier, President of Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) announced that “Intelligent management of interference signal in wireless communication system”, “Quality orientated integrate system design” and “Polymer electrolyte for fuel cell” were awarded by the Canadian Taiwanese joint research program.
“NSERC and NSC have cooperated in the ‘Summer Program in Taiwan’ since 2004, 8-10 Canadian graduated students were selected every year and sent to Taiwan in Summer for an eight weeks study. This program does great help in academic interchange of both countries.” Dr. Lee said, “From this year, we began to call for proposals for the joint research projects. Research groups teamed up from both countries and cooperate with industry to propose innovative, complementary, practical, high impact projects. After six months’ crucial review, three projects were selected out of twenty proposals, and these three projects will be funded by together by NSC and NSERC.”
